Rebirth

The tight husk wrenched open
We cast defenceless
are seeds of pale beauty
torn from decay
To wash in the waves
splashed cold through our senses
and wake at the dawn of infinite day
Far forward
the limitless sea is ours
Blue universe pools
where we play and laugh
Old knowledge, our wisdom's finely-worked flowers
blown formless behind us
meaningless chaff
Cold-crested breakers run
white over thought
Purging the memory
of what we would be
Petty ambitions that ignorance sought
drowned in reality
Now we are free

All-knowing innocence
no more to die
Born as new stars
in an ever-young sky.
